Our Beekeeping Journey
In July 2019, we embarked on our beekeeping adventure in Kimball, MI, starting with just 76 hives. That summer, we carefully tended to our bees, nurturing them biweekly. By August, we celebrated our first harvest—8 gallons of pure, locally sourced honey.
As winter approached in November 2019, we transported our bees to the organic Buffalo Creek Berry Farm in Georgia, where our dear friends Laura, Cameron, and Karrie helped us care for them through the colder months. Several road trips later, with medication and care, our bees thrived.
On May 15th, 2020, we returned to Michigan, this time with 150 hives, expanding our operation to three beautiful locations in Southwest Michigan: Hillsdale Christmas Tree Farm in Manchester, Poplar Glen Farms in Clinton, a serene site near Hines Park in Livonia, and a thriving apiary in Romulus
Today, our bees continue to thrive as they winter once more at Buffalo Creek Berry Farm, enjoying the mild climate of Georgia. We look forward to bringing them home in May—just in time for the Michigan spring and another fruitful season of sustainable, locally harvested honey.
