A nuc (short for nucleus) is comprised of 5 frames of Italian bees. It includes 3-4 frames of brood and 1-2 frames of honey and pollen. A new queen is included. It takes the bees about 2 months to create a nuc. Nucs are sold to capacity. Once capacity is reached, no more nucs are sold for the year. Order early to ensure you get your bees.
We start taking orders for nucs in the Fall/Winter for the following Spring, all orders are first come, first served until we reach capacity. Please fill out the form below let us know how many nucs you would like. You don’t have to pay anything in advance, just let us know early enough in the season so we can have them ready.
You will get your nucs starting in April/May 2025. Nucs will be ready to pick-up at dusk so most of the bees return from work, if you bring your 8 or 10 frame boxes we will transfer the frames with bees from the nuc box to your permanent box. (Please bring the additional empty frames to fill your box out and straps to secure the boxes close for transportation).
